Lauren | Class of 2015 | Totino Grace High School

Lauren is one of those girls you like the instant you meet her.  She’s a little quiet, smart and respectful, and she has an aura that is just so relaxing and friendly.  I did have a bit of a heads-up on what a great girl she would be based on her brother being good friends with my son.  They come from a wonderful family and their mom was super fun to have along for this session.

Lauren also has a confident competitive side to her that she carries so well.  Lauren is in competitive cheer with Planet Spirit and I got to see a whole new side of her in action.   She put on this rockin’ uniform, that suddenly reminded me how long it had been since I was at the gym and worked out!  And what’s a senior session without forgetting a part of your wardrobe???  Thank goodness for older brothers to the rescue!  Lauren began to show me a cross between gymnastics and cheer.  It was like I got my own personal show routine, AWESOME!  I have been hanging onto these images for quite a while because it’s apparently bad luck to have anyone see your uniform before competition begins.

Congrats to Lauren on her upcoming graduation from high school!  She is an ambitious girl with a bright future.

Minneapolis Newborn Photographer….to be or not to be…

Anyone that knows me, knows how much I LOVE babies.  Ever since I was a little girl, I was always drawn to them.  If we were at a social gathering, you’d find me right next to the mom with the new baby.

For Pete’s sake, I had FOUR of my own babies!  I was so excited to have them for myself and cuddle them whenever I felt.  No one was going to take them from my arms, telling me it was time for them to go home.  They emit pure joy and I was smitten.

There is just something about their innocence and promise of new beginnings.  I could cuddle a newborn all day.  I love their tiny fingers, lips, and their perfectly pink skin.  They fit perfectly into your arms.

I have flirted with the idea of photographing newborns for quite some time.  One thing holding me back is the investment in trying something, and then later finding it really wasn’t for me.

Last week, I attended The Blink Conference in Scottsdale, AZ.  I had the pleasure of working side-by-side with Michelle Newell, one of the leaders in the industry.  She allowed me to “test the waters” so to speak, without investing a large amount of money.

I think I have fallen in love…….

City Lights: Aubree | St. Michael-Albertville HS | Senior Photographer

This was a gorgeous session in downtown Minneapolis!  Aubree, who is from St. Michael-Albertville (STMA) High School, wanted a session far from the rural setting she is familiar with.  The rules I was given:  NO Fields, NO Farms.  I think mission accomplished!  As a HUGE fan of Prince, it was so awesome to find Prince’s star on the wall of stars.  This was an awesome location for this super spunky, sassy, and stunning senior!

Yes, a professional make-up artist (MUA) will bring your images up a notch or two, but see for yourself. These are beautiful images, and having a professional give their input on make-up and hair made a world of difference on Aubree’s portraits.
Aubree, thank you for choosing me to be your senior portrait photographer. You are a beautiful girl, inside and out!

Fall Family Portraits

It’s that time of year!  There is a crispness in the air, the windows are open, and FALL is upon us!  You know what that means……? It is time to schedule your family portraits.  So, break out the chunky sweaters, tall boots, and colorful scarves.  Get your family coordinated, and let’s get out there!  Mom’s this means you too.  When was the last time you saw yourself in a picture of your family?  That’s what I thought….it’s been a while, because you’re ALWAYS behind the camera.  Now, this is not the time to focus on our flaws.  These portraits will be priceless to you and your children when they’re grown  and out of the house.  I would LOVE for you to call and schedule with me today. I have limited availability for October, so don’t wait too long!

Armstrong High School | Senior Session

Wow, this is the start of a very busy senior portrait season! Meet Brennan. A true class act and so easy-going. He wanted an urban setting and we hit it at the Mill City Museum and surrounding area. Brennan rocked his session: take a look for yourself.

I do still have some openings for appointments Sept/Oct. Email me for more information:
